Sunrise on Hua Shan 华山
In continuation to part 1 here is the continuation of that post. It’s been pointed out to me that the trees on the mountains there look like eyelashes…

Climbing Hua Shan Mountain 华山
So, I decided to climb Hua Shan again. Climbed it with different people and at a different time of year, and it was totally different. This is going to be quite the update, so I will split it into multiple parts. Lot’s of pics, so, here we go…

Locusts
Yup, they’re locusts. Yup, they were delicious.

Baijiu on Fire

So, Chinese Baijiu (alcohol) has a nasty habit of creating nice big blank spots in your memory. However, I seem to have developed a subliminal technique of taking lots and lots of (mostly blurry) photos and videos when I’m in this state, perhaps in a vague attempt to fill in these gaps. Anyway, the above is one of these said photos.

I apologise for the silence of late, however I’ve set in motion plans to bring back a much more frequent publishing schedule, a plan then should come into fruition in the next few days. 🙂 Lot’s has changed here lately, including the arrival of two new teachers; John and Vicky. One of whom’s parents read this blog, so I’ve been told to say that she’s a very, very nice person, and that one of the above alcoholic beverages wasn’t her’s. Honest.

More soon.

Wintery Weinan

Weinan in Winter
So, I write this blog on a day where the weather was a low of 7’c and a high of 18’c… In England; that’d be a pretty good day, break out the T-shirt kinda weather. However, just over 2 weeks ago, when I took this photos, it was a very different story…

Giant Wild Goose Pagoda in Xi'an
So, way back on the 21st of January myself and B headed to Xi’an to visit her Auntie, Uncle and little cousin. While we were there we decided to check out the Wild Goose Pagoda. The park it’s in also features a huge water fountain, the largest in Asia I believe, and at night they throw in some lights and music and put on a show. Anyway, I grabbed the camera, and B grabbed her cousin, and we headed to check it out…

Back from the wilderness

An'Kang
Okay, not quite the wilderness, but I am back! I had an excellent time and Chinese new year was amazing. I have many, many tales to tell, and even more photos to post. Including over a thousand from before I even went away. I’m a little busy with work at the moment, but hopefully in the next few days, the posts will start flooding.

Thanks for tuning in!

Dropping off the grid

Weinan Winter Wonderland
I’m about to head to An’kang; Beryl’s hometown for spring festival. I’m unsure what internet access will be like, and I’ll assume I won’t have any. If that’s the case; I’ll see you in about 10 days. 🙂

Above is a random shot of the current weather. The roads are just ice. Awesome.

Me on Hua Shan
Just returned from climbing Hua Shan, again. It was good fun, and very tiring. This time I went to all 5 peaks. Full write-up coming soon. I have 750 photos to edit, and about another 3-4 blog posts I need to do about other things that have happened. Let alone the fact that spring festival / Chinese new year is fast approaching. Ahhhh, busy, busy, busy!

Peggy's Wedding - 20/01/2010
So, a few weeks ago now we were warmly invited to Peggy’s wedding. Peggy is one of the Chinese Teachers at Aston, so we gracefully accepted and went along, this time armed with B’s compact camera. 🙂
