Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, Xi’an. 西安 大雁塔。
Comments Published February 25th, 2010 in Chinese Life, Photography
So, way back on the 21st of January myself and B headed to Xi’an to visit her Auntie, Uncle and little cousin. While we were there we decided to check out the Wild Goose Pagoda. The park it’s in also features a huge water fountain, the largest in Asia I believe, and at night they throw in some lights and music and put on a show. Anyway, I grabbed the camera, and B grabbed her cousin, and we headed to check it out…
It was quite cold, and here’s B and her cute cousin trying to stay warm.
Goofing around the Pagoda waiting for the water show to start.
I don’t usually like black and white, but this one just seemed to work.
B’s cousin; the emperoress of the Pagoda. ^_^
My camera is a bit too heavy for B to hold steady, so excuse the blur. 🙂
The reflection of the Pagoda was purrrdy!
It’s quite a cool little park.
Waiting for the water show to begin.
…and then, not so patiently. ^_^
Splish!
The night light made some purrdy colours.
Trying to keep the camera dry was a challenge.
Tyring to keep B dry was also a challenge!
The Pagoda looked nice through the water.
It’s hard to show the fountains “dancing” in still photos.
Towards the end I realised I could use my flash for some funky photos.
Including this one, which is one of my favourites of the night.
More photos in the Flickr set, here.
Hope you enjoyed the photos. I hope to make more blog posts soon. I have lots of photos to throw up, so stay tuned!
