So, I write this blog on a day where the weather was a low of 7’c and a high of 18’c… In England; that’d be a pretty good day, break out the T-shirt kinda weather. However, just over 2 weeks ago, when I took this photos, it was a very different story…
I’ve now been in China a year, which means I’ve seen all the weather has to offer, but one thing that still surprises me is how quickly the winter->summer and summer->winter transitions occur.
this is the view looking down towards my apartment. Cold, cold, cold and lots of snow.
The roads aren’t gritted, so they just become ICE.
The roads were like ice rinks.
Not in a 4×4…? Expect something like this.
This taxi had snow chains…still didn’t help.
This Skoda looked rather nippy!
Everybody was still trying to go about their business.
They’ve recently wrapped a gazillion trees in fairy lights. What’s funny about this, is that they use Christmas-tree sized lights on these big ass trees. Meaning each tree has about 10 sets of lights on. When you look at the trees, you can see all the individual control boxes to control the flashing, etc. Hahah. Oh, China!
I liked this shot outside McDonald’s.
Taxi prices tripled and were taking in as many people as they could.
And they were still hard to find. These women spent ages trying to flag one down.
But if you had a scooter, and a fist full of bravery, you were all set.
More photos, Here.
Still trying to catch-up with the blog posts. About 900 photos left to go through…that was… until I took another 200 today. Oops! 🙂
Stay tuned!
I thought I would comment as no one has commented lately, don’t want you feeling lonely! It all looks very pretty. It has been snowing lots here too, so much that they ran out of grit here as well, although the roads didn’t look quite as perilous as over there! I love how taxis there can bump the price up just because of the weather! Keep going with the pics bro and hopefully you will catch up soon! xxx
