The Wei River, the largest tributary of the Yellow river. This was our goal for this bike ride. My partner in peddling was fellow foreign teacher Michelle. It was COLD AS HELL (assuming hell is -3’c) as we met at 10:45 to set out and head north…
…the weather was cold, and I’d worn way too many clothes. I was lovely and warm before I started peddling, and after 5minutes I felt like I was being boiled alive. I could feel warm blood from my torso being pumped into my relatively cold head. It wasn’t all too pleasant, but it felt like great exercise!
and this is the bridge over the river, complete with a gazillion identical lampposts. One thing to note; “smoggy” days like this SUCK for photography. The photos are so flat and without contrast, it’s really hard to make it look interesting, but…I guess it’s a “real” representation of my day-to-day.
My trusty steed! and some random shots taken from on the bridge.
Bikes, motorbikes and scooters can all go on toll roads for free. 🙂
A small village next to the bridge.
Dunno who’s house this was, but they’re slap bang outta luck.
On the off chance you’ve ever wondered what a Chinese toll booth looks like…there ya go.
Who lives in a house like this?
Struggling to find things to photograph.
Typical Chinese trucks/lorries.
Camera didn’t pick this up very well, but the snow either side of the road was stinky-grey with pollution. 🙁
Quite an impressive gateway for an otherwise run-down alleyway.
That concludes this blog post. Like I say, boring weather = boring photos. Bad times. 🙁 I hope this doesn’t turn into a trend for winter.
