Okay, so, a random blog post of a few cars in and around Weinan. Most of these pics were snapped over a 30min period, so these are cars you see all the time.
Cop cars of Weinan
Man, cops use ANYTHING as a cop car over here. Paint that thing white, slap on some blues and twos and you’re good to go. Also, you usually see them being used for anything but crime-fighting. Infact, I think a policeman in China is just about the best job going. They do nothing all day, and you normally just see them shopping / parked up outside restaurants, not even in uniform.

^ Ah, the trusty VW Santana. The backbone of many city’s Taxi fleets and police fleets. It’s an absaloute POS, but pretty reliable, and there’s a mountain of spares everywhere.

^ Another cop car minivan. I also like the Jazz out here. I don’t think we have this facelifted version in the UK. Nor do we have that colour. I digg it.
^ Skoda octavia cop car. Not even the VRS, just a slow saloon. Oh, note the cop smoking out the window.
^ Not a cop car, but a security van. Often seen outside banks, 2 guys with shotguns, one goes in, one stays outside. I was after a better picture, but im dubious about aiming a dark, barrel’d object (my camera) at a guy with kevlar and a pump-action. On their hip they have blue and red rounds. I assume the blue are less-lethal rounds and the red are your standard 12-guage. I’m hoping the roll around with the blue shells loaded, as they’re always swinging their guns around like they’re toys.

^ The Suzuki Swift is one of the most-modified cars out here. I’d say about 60% of them are moded. Mostly sticker-tuned of course. Highlights of this beauty are the white-painted roof, and the fake brake discs behind the rear alloys. Keeping it classy in China. 🙂
