Following on from Part One, here’s Part Two! Day two included trips to “Fairy mountain” and “Wulong Karst” – The latter being a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The day started with a four-five hour minibus ride out to fairy mountain, on the way we stopped off at a rest stop and I saw this…
A rather classy gents/ladies sign for the loos.
After already being on the bus for 3 hours, people were happy just to stretch their legs.
Bad photo from the window of the minibus, but it shows the altitude we were getting to. Clouds just over the rooftops!
Then we arrived at Fairy mountain, part of the Wulong karst tourism area.
The sign pitched it as an “Oriental Switzerland.”
So this place is famous for being always foggy, all the time.
Some HDR photography. I wont bore you with the details – but; it makes things look pretty.
This was to show how under-capacity this place is. This was national day, the primary travelling time for Chinese people. Nobody.
The elevator we took to descend down into the Karst.
More HDR than you can shake a stick at!
More me and John. Michael had stayed at the hotel this day, as he was feeling under the weather.
John in period incorrect clothing.
“A single spark can destroy the whole forest!” – Thanks for the tip!
A cowboy looking out over a whole new frontier.
This is apparently a VIP hotel.
A very angry looking Jenny – haha. At this point we’d gone on one of the river boat ships for a trip of our own, just up and down the river a mile or so each way.
Looking from our river boat up at buildings on the banks.
Beautiful stuff. A trip on a boat down the Yangtze river is definitely recommended!
On the train, heading back home.
This time we were prepared, with snacks!
Hope you enjoyed it. It was a short but sweet trip. Stay tuned for some video from the trip coming soon! 🙂
