Christmas Eve 2009. Well, I’m finally starting my catch-up posting, beginning with this one, Christmas Eve. The above image perfectly symbolises Christmas eve. Drinking. Lots of drinking…
Invited by Rudy (pictured with the Santa hat) we met at the Jade Dragon restaurant on the other side of town.
Chinese and foreigners both in attendance, but the guest of honour was definitely the food.
and even some stuff that looked like a Jenga game!
Everyone was mid conversation, and I didn’t want to interrupt, so you’ll have to settle for this rather candid photo. Apart from Rudy, who appears to be shouting abuse at me. I really don’t remember!
B wearing Copper’s funky glasses.
Ah, the reason for my patchy memory…baijiu. A 40-60% favourite of the Chinese, and has a crazy ability to totally remove sections of your memory.
Copper gets a Christmas kiss from Chelsea while in the background Rudy attempts to explain something to B.
Back to Rudy’s apartment for…more drinking! Here B takes a lesson from the experts of Champagne (the French) on how to correctly open a bottle.
And bubbly for all! Mumm’s the word.
B with a present from Rudy; what could it be?
Of course, a remote control helicopter! Muwhahaha, I’m so stealing that!
The beast in flight!
Matt with his present, trying to work out the back from the front.
Copper with his gift; a novelty-sized lighter. Looks kinda dangerous!
Well, that was that for Christmas eve. You’ll have to excuse the lack of commentry, don’t remember too much, but it was a damn good night! Christmas-day post coming up soon!
Fabulous!! Love the cake! wow 🙂 xx
Seems to be a fancy night 🙂 I’d like to brief you on your “something” or “some stuff”. spacial sequence
Seems a fancy night 🙂 But I’d like to brief you on the “something” or “some stuff” you’ve mentioned so many times above. (Hopefully I’ve got them right.) In spacial sequence, they are vermicelli, broccoli, some kind of meat, and hawthorn jelly. Satisfied?
Oh, something more to add, the characters on the cake read: Merry Christmas!
