“Yay!” Okay, so a few things, 1) China is flippin’ cold in winter. 2) When it snows, it SNOWS, and 3) …
3)It’s FLIPPIN’ COLD IN CHINA!
Snow had turned the city into a white wonderland!
As demonstrated by B, it was quite deep!
It made for some cool photos. Pun intended.
It caused quite a lot of destruction. Here’s the bike shelter in our apartment. Well, it was a bike shelter.
Quite a few trees had fallen; which didn’t fully add up.
Again, more awning that couldn’t take the stress. You can draw your own conclusions about quality control, build quality, etc, etc.
Everyone worked hard to clear up the snow.
For many companies and businesses, the first order of day was shovelling out the car park or whatever company grounds there were. I don’t think you’d really get this in England; we’d think it was someone elses jobs, but it was refreshing to see people who were obviously from all levels of a company grabbing a shovel and putting their back into it. Even the teeny weeny office secretaries.
Many ordinary civilians were just walking around clearing up the streets too. Here an old man is shaking snow off a tree.
Everyone looked cold, cold, cold!
Most Chinese chicks wear these little masks to stay warm; as modelled by B.
No excuse or caption for this one; its just damn cute!
B’s getting quite into her photography too; even if she does only have a lil’ camera-phone. Loving the cross-eyed action on the photo on the left :-p
Funny photo this one. I wanted to just take a photo of snow-related things (with the foresight of this blogpost) anyway; I hear a car approaching with snow chains on the wheels (clunk-clunk-clunk-etc) so I take a photo. After I take the photo, B tells me “Rudi was in that taxi!” I didn’t even notice when I took the picture, I was just looking at the snow chains. Hahah. So there, you have a picture of Rudi waving. While I’m on the subject, Rudy or Rudi… I think Rudy.
and finally, this one. B got on her bus to go to university, rubbed away the condensation, and gave me this wave. 🙂
More photos, here!
